Ranji Trophy 2018-19, Round 8, Elite B, Day 1: Madhya Pradesh 235/5 versus Himachal

Shubham Sharma and Puneet Datey were involved in a 61-run partnership for the sixth wicket when stumps were drawn.

Madhya Pradesh were 235/5 on the opening day of their Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Round 8 Elite B match against Himachal on Sunday. Rajat Patidar top scored with 47, while captain Naman Ojha scored 41.

Put into bat at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, MP lost their opener Anand Singh Bais for nought to Pankaj Jaswal. The other opener – Aryaman Birla – was dismissed by Mayank Dagar for 32.

Patidar and Ojha then combined to add 67 runs for the third wicket. However, Jaswal ended the partnership to claim his second wicket and dismissed Patidar, who scored eight boundaries for his 47.

Yash Dubey added 31 before he was sent back to the pavilion by Arpit Guleria, who cleaned up Ojha four overs later. Ojha scored 41 off 129 in which he struck four boundaries.

Shubham Sharma and Puneet Datey were involved in a 61-run partnership for the sixth wicket when stumps were drawn. Sharma was batting on 34, while Datey is not out on 22. For Himachal, Guleria and Jaswal picked up two wickets each.
