Saurashtra continued their dominant run on day two of their Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Round 9 Elite A match against reigning champions Vidarbha and notched 356 runs in their first innings with vital contributions from the lower order on Tuesday.

Resuming their day at 218/5 at Rajkot, Saurashtra were pushed beyond the 300-run mark thanks to a fine half-century from Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, who brought up his third first-class fifty. Jadeja tonked 12 boundaries in his 113-ball stay at the crease and departed after scoring 72 off Akshay Wakhare.

Kamlesh Makwana missed out on his fifty by one runs to remain unbeaten on 49 off 142 balls. For Vidarbha, pacer Yash Thakur was the pick of the bowlers with four for 92 in his 32.4 overs. Suniket Bingewar did not add on to his tally of three wickets on Monday and finished at 3/48.

In reply, Vidarbha lost their captain and opener Faiz Fazal for 9 after he was trapped leg-before to Jaydev Unadkat in the eighth over. Atharva Taide, the other opener, added 31 before he was dismissed by Prerak Mankad.
