Odisha have won their last league game after completing a 276-run win over Goa in their Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Round 9 Elite C match on Wednesday. With the six points, Odisha have finished fifth in the 10-team group – well out of contention in the knockouts – while Goa are firmly occupying the bottom position after failing to register a single win this season.

Chasing 387 after Odisha were wrapped up for 151 in their second dig, pacers Rajesh and Basant Mohanty shared nine wickets between them to skittle Goa out for 111 in 29.5 overs. (ALSO READ: Bihar’s Ashutosh Aman breaks Bishan Singh Bedi’s long standing record of most wickets in a Ranji season)

Amogh Desai top scored for Goa with 28 off 40 before he was cleaned up by Biplab Samantaray. Rajesh picked up five for 49 in his 9.5 overs to add on to his three wickets in the first innings, while Basant claimed four for 21 in his 10 overs to add to his two wickets.

Earlier, resuming their second innings at 37/1, with a comfortable lead of 273 runs, the script was almost the same with Goa pacers Lakshay Garg and Krishna Das decimating the Odisha batting line-up claiming nine wickets between the two. Garg, who had taken three wickets in the first dig, returned with figures of five for 75 in his 20 overs, while Das claimed four for 57 in his 22 overs to add on to his two wickets earlier.
