Ranji Trophy 2018, Round 8, Elite B, Day 2: Ricky Bhui holds the key to Andhra gaining first-innings lead versus Hyderabad

Andhra were placed at 207/3, still adrift by 64 runs on day two of their Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Round 8 Elite B match against Hyderabad on Monday. At stumps, Ricky Bhui (49 not out) and KS Bharat (14 not out) were involved in a 41-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Earlier, resuming their day at 226/7, Hyderabad lost their remaining three wickets inside 10 overs. Fast bowler KV Sasikanth, who snapped three wickets on the opening day, pocketed two more – first CV Milind (6) and Saaketh (23) – as Hyderabad were wrapped up for 271 in 90.3 overs.

In reply, Andhra were off to a good start with openers CR Gnaneshwar and DB Prashanth Kumar stitching 58 runs before Kumar was dismissed by Ravi Teja for 32. Gnaneshwar’s fine knock was brought to an end by Ajay Dev Goud. Gnaneshwar  carted 12 boundaries in his 122-ball 65. Jyothisaikrishna added 38 before he was sent back to the pavilion by CV Milind.
