After two years ban on important teams of Indian Premier League (IPL), who have been constant winners in most season of IPL, comes in with two new teams Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) and Gujarat Lions (GL) for 2016 and 2017. These two teams will consists of players who were left from banned teams and many new faces which will turn up soon in each side. Two Indian cricketers, Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni who have played alongside for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face each other and lead these teams respectively. Jaskaran Singh goes for 10 lakh to RPS!

Adam Zampa now. RPS bid for him, and they get him without opposition for 30 lakh.

Scott Boland goes for his 50 lakh base price to RPS!

Ashok Dinda goes to RPS for his base price!

Deepak Chahar has been picked up by RPS for his base price of 10 lakh.

Baba Aparajith picked up by RPS for his 10 lakh base price.

Vijay Shankar for a base price of 10 lakh, is being bid for by SRH and RPS. Sold to SRH.

Thisara Perera picked up by RPS at his base price of 1 crore.

Peter Handscomb goes to RPS for 30 lakh!

Ankush Bains goes to RPS for his base price of 10 lakh!

Murugan Ashwin, a virtually unkown quantity, is selling like a hot cake! RCB and RPS are battling it out over him like nobody’s business! RCB back out for 4.5 crore. SOLD! M Ashwin goes to RPS.

Ankit Rajpoot engaged in a stiff battle between RPS and KKR. And he goes to KKR for 15 times his base price of 10 lakh!

Ishwar Pandey now. RPS start the bidding early. And he goes for the base price of 20 lakh!

Rajat Bhatia now. His base price is 30 lakh. RPS and DD continue to battle it out. But RPS prevail. Bhatia goes for 60 lakh to RPS.

Pawan Negi is up, with 30 lakh as his base price. RPS start the bidding. DD bidding against them. Negi has gone for 20 times his base price, and counting. He is now the second-most expensive player of this auction! RPS back out (wisely) and DD get Negi for 8.5 crore!

Ankit Sharma now. And he is picked up by RPS for 10 lakh, his base price.

Rishabh Pant now, one of India’s U19 stars. RPS and MI start the bidding, but RPS back out at 40 lakh.

Ishan Kishan, India’s U19 skipper is up for 10 lakh. RPS start the bidding, and GL join in. RPS backs out for 35 lakh. And GL get Kishan for 35 lakh!

Karun Nair for a base price of just 10 lakh. Expect a huge war for him. RPS have started the bidding. Delhi Daredevils take them on. RPS back off at 75 lakh, but GL swoop in.

Travis Head up for 30 lakh. RCB start the bidding, and RPS join in. And RCB pick him up for 50 lakh.

RP Singh for 30 lakh up now. RPS start the bidding. And no one else bids.

Now comes Barinder Sran, with a base price of 50 lakh. RPS start the bidding. GL continues with the bidding. SRH are the new bidders now. They might just take him away too. GL have backed out as well. Sold to SRH.

Marcus Stoinis up for 30 lakh. RPS and KXIP engage in a bidding war. And he is sold to KXIP.

John Hastings for 1 crore. And RPS start the bidding. KKR enter the bidding. RPS have backed out, and KKR pick up Hastings for 1.3 crores!

Mitchell Marsh comes in. 2 crore base price. Pune bid for 4.80 and sold.

Irfan Pathan is now up for auction, with a base price of just 1 crore. RPS start off the bidding. And Irfan goes to RPS for a real bargain at 1 crore!

Dale Steyn up for auction now. RPS start off the bidding. RCB jump in. RPS bow out at 2 crore.

Shane Watson in a fierce bidding war between RCB and RPS. Watson is already the most expensive player so far! He becomes the first player to breach the 5-crore mark this year. RPS bow out at 5.5 crores.

LIVE UPDATES, IPL AUCTION 2016: Ishant Sharma under the hammer next, the firts bid comes from Kings XI at an opening bid for Rs 200 lacs. Rising Super Giants brings in their bid, Rs. 290 lacs. He was in Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last season. The bid stopped at Rs. 380 lacs, goes to Pune! Ishant apparently is more expensive than Kevin Pietersen.



LIVE UPDATES, IPL AUCTION 2016: KP’s auction began with a base price of Rs. 2 crore. The first bid comes in from Pune. Next comes in Gujarat Lions. The fight for KP between the new entrants goes on, and it is PUNE with their first player in the auction–3.5 crore, first marquee player to get sold in today’s auction.

The two new teams had option to bid for five best players each, with Rising Pune Supergiants being the first to bid. The franchise is owned by Sanjiv Goenka Group who owns New Rising Promoters. Rising Pune Supergiants have 27 crores in place to to acquire rest of the squad and more 22 players can be added to the squad. The team has two international players and rest include cricketer from team India. Rising Pune Supergiants can be expected to be a better team than Chennai Super Kings and come out stronger in this season of IPL. With Stephen Fleming and Dhoni together on one side once again, the magic will surely be repeated once again in 2016.
