Nobody will ever forget Suryakumar Yadav’s incredible catch in the thrilling Barbados final match against South Africa, which was the turning point in the game for India. India went on to win the coveted T20 World Cup trophy after defeating South Africa by a margin of seven runs.
Ever since that exciting T20 World Cup final, several players have tried to match Suryakumar’s genius.
Star cricketer Rohit Paudel of Nepal recently shared a peek of Suryakumar’s incredible catch.
Standing at the boundary ropes was Rohit, who is currently a player for the Toronto Nationals in the Global T20 Canada. Akhil Kumar of Brampton Wolves was hit by an outside off delivery from Junaid Siddique, but Kumar whacked the ball with incredible force.
At the boundary ropes, Rohit sprinted to his right, collected the ball, released it as he crossed them, and then returned to finish an incredible catch.
Indeed, Rohit’s efforts were commended on the Global 2Ồ Canada social media account, which wrote: “A catch that would make even Suryakumar proud.”

In the T20 World Cup 2024 final, Suryakumar won the Fielder Medal of the Match for his outstanding catch that got rid of David Miller at long off. Miller’s removal aided India’s recovery and helped them win the vital seven-run victory.
With the big-hitting David Miller for South Africa, they needed 16 runs from the last over. Hardik Pandya fired a wide full toss, but Suryakumar collected the ball, released it as he went over the boundary lines, and then came back in to complete an incredible catch. Suryakumar steadied himself on the ropes.
