New Zealand batsmen Ross Taylor on Sunday crossed legendary batsmen on Day Two of the second Test against Zimbabwe crossed legendary batsman, Martin Crowe, in the list of leading run-scorers in Test matches for New Zealand. Crowe, in 77 Tests for New Zealand had 5,444 runs in Test cricket at an averageof 45.36. He had 17 hundreds and 18 fifties in them with a highest score of 299. Taylor has climbed on top of him in 71 Test matches. He is now the third highest run-getter for New Zealand in Tests, with Brendon McCullum at second with 6,453 runs and Stephen Fleming at the top with 7,172 runs. Earlier in the day, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson reached a personal milestone as well. He became the 13th player to score centuries against all Test playing nations and youngest as well. He is also the first New Zealand player to do so. Williamson scored a century against Zimbabwe in the second Test match at Bulawayo. He was unbeaten on 95 at Stumps on Day One after he put on a second wicket partnership with Tom Latham. Latham also registered a hundred. Williamson got to his 14th Test hundred, his first against Zimbabwe, with a boundary and now has a century against all the nine Test playing teams.
He is now level with Taylor with most centuries for New Zealand in Tests. Williamson looked in fine touch as soon as he came out to bat on Day One and got going right from the word go.
