Soon after winning the two-Test series against the West Indies, the Indian team dressing room at the Wankhede Stadium witnessed some humourous remarks in honour of Sachin Tendulkar from his teammates on Saturday.
Back-to-back century-maker Rohit Sharma said all the players took turn to give “funny speeches in honour” of Tendulkar. Coach Duncan Fletcher was the last speaker, making his customary post-series remarks.
“There were funny speeches in the dressing room. Coach Duncan Fletcher also spoke as he normally does after every series,” said Rohit without revealing what exactly was said in the speeches.
The team has planned a big bash for Tendulkar in the evening — and there is so much more to celebrate after he was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour.
“We have some plans for the evening,” said Rohit.
