Shakib Al Hasan dealt with MASSIVE blow, arrest warrant issued against Bangladesh star for THIS reason

The veteran Bangladesh cricketer hasn't returned to the country since Sheikh Hasina's government collapsed back in August 2024

A court in Bangladesh issued an arrest warrant against veteran cricketer Shakib Al Hasan on Sunday for bounced cheques totaling more than $300,000.

“The court has previously summoned Shakib but he did not appear at the court. Now, the court has issued the warrant,” said Mohammed Shahibur Rahman from the IFIC Bank, which filed the case.

Shakib is a former lawmaker from the party of autocratic ex-leader Sheikh Hasina, who was overthrown by revolution and fled to India in August 2024.

Shakib also faced murder investigations for a deadly police crackdown on protesters during the uprising. He has not been charged over those allegations.

The veteran Bangladesh star hasn’t returned to the country since Hasina’s governement collapsed. During the uprising, Shakib was playing in a domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Canada.
