Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most celebrated Indian festivals, especially in the western region of the country. This festival began as a medium to unity the country against British Rule by Lokmanya Tilak. It is a festival that lasts for 10 – 14 days with people installing clay idol of Lord Ganesha at their homes and immersing it into a water source at the conclusion of the festival. On this special occasion, several Indian cricketers wished Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to their fans on Twitter.
Both a blend of active and former players such as Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Hardik Pandya,Cheteshwar Pujara, Karun Nair and Anil Kumble to name a few have poured wished to their fans and thanked the holy Indian god. The Virat Kohli-led Indian side is currently leading the 5 One-Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka. They also whitewashed the hosts in the 3-Test series earlier.
