Shikhar Dhawan’s 248 off 150 balls for India A against South Africa A at the LC de Villiers Oval on Monday is the second highest score in List A career behind Ali Brown’s 268 for Surrey against Glamorgan in 2002. Dhawan hit 30 boundaries (a record he shares with Brown) and seven sixes in his breathtaking knock.
List A includes all the domestic limited overs competitions and One-day Internationals (ODIs). Graeme Pollock became the first person to score a double century (222 not out) in List A career in 1974. Alan Barrow then became the second person to achieve this incredible feat in 1975 playing for Natal against South Africa XI.
