After a successful stint in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016, Chinaman bowler Shivil Kaushik is all set to have a stint in England with County side Hull County Cricket Club. Hull CCC is a 141-year-old club, which is currently in the Yorkshire Premier League. Kaushik had a successful stint with the Gujarat Lions (GL) in IPL 2016, for whom he picked up six wickets in his seven matches. GL finished the season on top of the table but could not make it to the final. Kaushik hogged limelight for his unusual bowling action, a bit reminiscent of former South African bowler Paul Adams. “Shivil will be with us shortly. We are very much looking forward to having him join us for the rest of the season. We’ve obviously seen him in the IPL and we’re sure he’ll be a great success over here in the Yorkshire Premier League. We won our first 4 games in the League but we have slipped up in recent weeks. With the addition of Shivil, we’re hoping to get back to winning ways,” Hull CCC told Sportskeeda. READ: Top emerging players of IPL 2016
“My IPL experience has given me a lot of confidence. Picking the wickets of Yuvraj Singh and Glenn Maxwell is something I shall never forget,” said Kaushik.
India Under-19 star and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Sarfaraz Khan also played for Hull CCC. He played just a couple of games for them, but the club knew that he will move on to greater things later.
“The weather was poor then, he only played 2 games, scoring 12 runs. Despite this we could all tell he was going to go on to better things.” Within a few months of that short stay, Sarfaraz had secured an IPL contract and had become a household name,” said Hull CCC describing Sarfaraz’s stint with the club.
