India batter Shubman Gill has been crowned as the ICC Player of the Month for February. This comes after the batter put in stunning performances in the 3-match ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy. India’s vice-captain had an outstanding month where his lowest score was 46 against Pakistan in the recently-concluded ICC event.

The 25-year-old played 5 ODIs in the month which included the 3-match series against England as well as the Champions Trophy league stage matches against Bangladesh and Pakistan.

In February, Gill scored a total of 406 runs in one-day cricket which included centuries back-to-back games. The star batter scored a century in the third and final ODI of the series against England before scoring another ton in the Men in Blue’s Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh.

This is Gill’s third player of the month award and he became just the second player to do so after Pakistan’s Babar Azam. Gill previously won the prestigious award in January and September of 2023. Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is the only Indian player other than Gill to win the award more than once.

Gill finished the 2025 Champions Trophy with 188 runs in five innings as his form dwindled in March with single-digit scores in the league stage fixture against New Zealand and the semi-final clash against Australia. He did play a decent innings of 31 in the final against the Black Caps.

Gill also replaced Babar as the top-ranked ODI batter in the world last month and has since maintained his position at the top thanks to stunning batting displays.
