Marchant de Lange claimed four wickets to help South Africa bundle out New Zealand for a modest total of 206 in their third and final One-Day International match at Auckland’s Eden Park.
South Africa remained in control for most of the first innings after winning the toss and electing to field, as their bowlers didn’t allow the Kiwi batsmen to settle in and get big scores.
Brendon McCullum missed out on a half-century and was the top run getter for the hosts, scoring 47 off 59 balls with the help of six boundaries.
New Zealand, who have lost the ODI series 2-0 after the Twenty20 series against South Africa, failed to put up a fight against the dominant African side.
De Lange, who bagged four wickets for 46 runs, bagged the key wickets of McCullum, Andrew Ellis, Nathan McCullum and explosive batsman James Franklin.
Brief Scores: New Zealand 206 all-out in 47 overs (Brendon McCullum 47, Colin de Grandhomme 36, James Franklin 36; Marchant de Lange 4 for 46, Robin Peterson 2 for 36) vs South Africa.
