South Africa opt to bat against Pakistan in 1st Test at Abu Dhabi

South Africa captain Graeme Smith won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan in the first Test at Abu Dhabi on Monday.

South Africa pacer Morne Morkel has become the 18th player from his country to play in 50 or more Tests.

For Pakistan, Shan Masood and Zulfiqar Babar will make their Test debuts.
