Australia finished day two in the drivers’ seat at 494 for seven against hosts South Africa, who were bereft of ideas against the onslaught of the Australian batsmen. Captain Michael Clarke was unbeaten on 161 and was given terrific support by Steven Smith and Shane Watson.
