Chandrashekar Sant was on Tuesday elected unopposed as the President of the Sports Journalists Association of Mumbai (SJAM) at the 47-year-old organisation’s AGM held at the Press Club Mumbai.

Chandrashekar Sant was on Tuesday elected unopposed as the President of the Sports Journalists Association of Mumbai (SJAM) at the 47-year-old organisation’s AGM held at the Press Club Mumbai.
All the other office bearers, barring joint secretary Anand Naik who edged out Mufeed Rizvi in a straight two-way contest 26-24, were elected unopposed for a three-year term (2012-15).
Also elected unopposed were five executive committee members. The AGM also nominated senior scribe Ayaz Memon as the Chairperson of its proposed golden jubilee committee.
The newly elected SJAM office bearers and executive committee (2012-15) are:
President: Chandrashekar Sant.
Vice Presidents: Clayton Murzello (Mid-Day) and Sanjeev Samyal (Hindustan Times).
Secretary: G Viswanath (The Hindu).
Joint Secretary: Anand Naik (Sportal).
Treasurer: SS Ramaswamy (PTI).
