Persistent rains washed out the one-off Twenty20 international match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand at the Pallekele International Stadium on Tuesday.
In the rain-truncated match, Sri Lanka reached six for no loss, chasing 75 to win from 14 overs.
Earlier, Sri Lanka restricted a hapless New Zealand to a paltry score of 74 for seven from 14 overs.
Put in to bat first, New Zealand made a disastrous start to their innings losing the top order cheaply.
Tim Southee top-scored with 21 and BJ Watling scored 16 after New Zealand top order flopped.
New Zealand were strugglilng at 24 for five when rain halted play during the ninth over.
Thisara Perera and Nuwan Kulasekara were the chief tormentors of the Kiwis early on, as they took two wickets each.
Spinner Akila Dananjaya bagged two wickets as well.
Earlier, Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews won the toss and elected to field against New Zealand.
