Sri Lanka ended Day Four of the third and final Test against Australia at 312 for 8, leading Australia by 288 runs with two wickets in hand. Dhananjaya de Silva, who scored a century in the first innings is unbeaten on 44 and Suranga Lakmal is yet to get off the mark. But it was Kaushal Silva’s 115 that took the game away from the visitors. Silva was going through a lean patch for some time and it finally came to an end just at the right time. Sri Lanka will look to extend their lead a bit more on Day Five and look to dismiss Australia. It will not be easy as the Australian batsmen played very well in the first innings. Sri Lanka were reduced to 26 for 5 in their first innings, before Dinesh Chandimal and de Silva put on 213-run stand for the sixth wicket. Chandimal top-scored with 132, while de Silva, who scored his maiden Test ton finished with 129 to rescue Sri Lanka. Mitchell Starc once again starred with the ball, finishing with figures of 5 for 63 to go with a couple of wickets in the second innings. Spinners Nathan Lyon and Jon Holland too have done a fine job as they have shared six between themselves in the second innings.

Sri Lanka have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series and will now look to whitewash Australia for the very first time in their history.
