Sri Lanka batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan has been dismissed for 1 in his final international appearance for his nation in the second T20 International (T20I) against Australia at Colombo (RPS). Dilshan chased a wide delivery from John Hastings and David Warner at first sip took a comfortable catch. Dilshan ends his career with 1889 runs at an average of 28 with one century and 13 fifties in this format. Dilshan had also announced his retirement from the One-Day International (ODI) series after the first three games against Australia. Dilshan has played 330 ODIs and 87 Tests as wel. Dilshan retires as the second highest run-getter in T20Is, just behind former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, who has 2140 runs to his name. Sri Lanka would want to win this match for Dilshan and send him off on a high note. They lost in his final ODI match and would like to make amends for that.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first against Australia in the second and final Twenty20 international in Colombo on Friday. The hosts, who are gunning to give retiring batsman Dilshan a winning farewell, have made just one change from their opening loss on Tuesday. Leg-spinner Seekkuge Prasanna joins the starting lineup in place of medium-pacer Kasun Rajitha.
The Warner-led side, who won the first match after scoring a world record 263 in Pallekele, have included all-rounder John Hastings and Matthew Wade in the playing XI.
