Sri Lanka take on West Indies in the ICC World T20 2014‘s first semi-final in Dhaka, with both teams entering the contest after trouncing their opponents in the last round-robin game and entering this stage of the competition in style. In the pre-match build-up, this contest was virtually dubbed into a West Indies’s batsmen vs Sri Lankan spinners contest.

Sri Lanka, apart from the minor blip against England in the group stages, have been clinical and have typically gone about their job in a low profile but effective manner. Defending T20 World Cup Champions West Indies have also risen after a tame defeat in the hands of India and have improved every time they have stepped on the field with each player making it count.
