St Kitts and Nevis Patriots is one of the six teams participating in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016. The franchise put their 15-man squad from the 2015 season and went on to retain a total of four players from the previous season with Pakistani star Shahid Afridi being their top pick. The team will play its home games at Warner Park, Basseterre, located on Saint Kitts, and, like the league’s other franchises, draw the majority of its players from West Indian domestic teams. This edition of CPL is star-studded with the names like Shane Watson, Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum, AB de Villiers, Kumar Sangakkara and many others. A total of six Australians will be seen in action. Shane Watson, Mike Hussey, Chris Lynn, Brad Hodge, Alex Ross and Adam Zampa are the Australians participating in CPL 2016. St Kitts and Nevis have officially replaced Antigua Hawksbills franchise (based in Antigua and Barbuda) this season.

However CPL later had said that Hawksbills will be brought back as they plan to have seven teams instead of six like they have in 2016 season. The Hawksbills were primarily removed from the competition in order to make scheduling easier, though their poor results and lack of a private owner also contributing to their removal.
