Stephan Myburgh‘s unbeaten 71 helped Netherlands pull off a run win against Nepal to clinch the four-match T20I series 3-0 in Rotterdam. Batting first, Netherlands lost wickets regularly but managed some heavy blows with Myburgh steering the ship. Paras Khadka, Nepal’s captain, led the reply with 28-ball 36 but couldn’t accelerate enough to keep up with the required run-rate, eventually falling short of the target. Myburgh’s 56-ball knock featured five fours and two sixes, and although six wickets fell around him, captain Peter Borren and later Timm van der Gugten pushed the scoring alongside him in brief but solid bursts to get them up to a run-rate of seven.
Nepal chased slowly in the initial phase of the chase, and when they lost their fourth wicket they were 59 for 4 in the 12th over. But Khadka and Sharad Vesawkar combine to score 48 off 33 balls to keep their team in the hunt. Vesawkar’s wicket in the 18th over was a blow from which they couldn’t recover, and four wickets fell, including three off the final over, as they ended up losing by 18 runs — the same margin as in the first T20I in Amstelveen.
