Stuart Broad attacked the media by sarcastically telling that a lot has been reported as though England is trailing 10-0 in the ongoing Ashes 2015. The fast bowler believes that a different side of the home team will be seen in the upcoming third Ashes Test on Wednesday after a disappointing loss in the second game at Lord’s. He suggested that in a Test match the main idea is to make the opponent work hard towards claiming 10 wickets; however in the last game the English easily gave away all the wickets. After the thumping 405-run loss, England have made a couple of changes with pushing Ian Bell up the order to number three position and replaced out-of-form Gary Ballance with Jonathan Bairstow.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Broad said: “I think when we get to Edgbaston you’ll see a very determined, steely, skilful batting line-up for England. I think it’ll be a big change from Lord’s.” READ– Gary Ballance will make England comeback soon: Mark Ramprakash
The last time England played at Edgbaston, Alastair Cook scored his highest Test score of 294 and they went on to record 710/7, third highest ever Test total. The match was against India in 2011, which England won comfortably by an innings.
“Let’s not forget that Edgbaston and Trent Bridge are two fantastic grounds for the England cricket team. It’s a huge week. I read somewhere that England haven’t won the third Ashes Test since 1981, which has got to change. In an Ashes series, it’s so crucial to be mentally and physically fresh. It’s crucial that we don’t get to Edgbaston still hung over or fearing what happened at Lord’s. We need to be quite clear that we performed badly, but this is a new week,” Nottinghamshire cricketer added.
