Indian politician Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday alleged that Shashi Tharoor was behind the murder of his late wife Sunanda Pushkar, with links back to the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra.

Speaking to a news channel, Swamy said, “Sunanda Pushkar had said she would expose the IPL deals. Robert Vadra’s name would also have surfaced.” Swamy went on to say that he would be filing a PIL in order to demand an investigation into Sunanda’s death. Swamy had earlier maintained that there was something suspicious about Sunanda’s death.

If there is any merit at all in Swamy’s claims, it could serve to be a death-knell for IPL after the IPL 2013 spot fixing and betting controversy, the final pronouncement of which is yet to come.
