Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) finished on a score of 163 for four after 20 overs during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 match against Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Saturday. Moises Henriques and Ravi Bopara were batting on scores of 74 and 17 respectively, while Nathan Coulter-Nile emerged the pick among the bowlers with figures of two for 25. Live Updates: DD vs SRH, IPL 2015 Match 45 at Raipur
SRH earlier won the toss and elected to bat, with skipper David Warner opting to bring in Parvez Rasool in place of Hanuma Vihari. Delhi, on the other hand, made three changes — Jayant Yadav, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Quinton de Kock in place of Manoj Tiwary, Imran Tahir and Angelo Mathews. South African wicketkeeper batsman de Kock made his first appearance in the ongoing IPL during the match. IPL 2015: Points Table and Team Standings
The SRH opening duo of Warner and Shikhar Dhawan, who have been destructive and taken their team off to good starts in the tournament so far, added 29 runs for the first wicket in less than four overs. DD drew first blood when Dhawan mistimed a flick off the bowling of Zaheer Khan to get caught at mid-wicket by Albie Morkel. Warner joined him at the pavilion a few minutes later when he was caught in the same region, this time by Saurabh Tiwary off the bowling of Coulter-Nile. IPL 2015: Schedule with venue details
England skipper Eoin Morgan arrived at the crease, and added 33 runs for the third wicket with Henriques, guiding SRH towards a steady recovery. Morgan hit a couple of boundaries, with the game progressing slowly at this stage, before he was caught at long-off by Coulter-Nile off the bowling of Jayant Yadav after coming down the track and attempting to smash the delivery.
Henriques took charge of the SRH innings following the departure of Morgan, as Karn Sharma arrived at the crease. Karn, who had helped bring SRH to the brink of victory during their previous match against DD, smashed two boundaries during his 13-ball innings of 16, before getting caught by Yadav near point.
At this point, Delhi could have cashed in on the regular fall of wickets, and restricted the side to a manageable score. That was not to happen however, as was the case in the last three matches that DD lost. Henriques began to attack the opposition freely towards the death overs, bringing up his half-century in 39 balls in the process. Ravi Bopara provided able support on the other end, adding 17 runs to the team total after facing 11 balls. While 163 may appear to be a satisfactory total for the Sunrisers during the innings break, Delhi will have faith in the opening duo of Quinton de Kock and Shreyas Iyer to get them off to a good start, which can help make the target appear less stiff.
