A second consecutive half-century from Shubham Pundir coupled by an allround show from captain Parvez Rasool helped Jammu and Kashmir to a five-wicket victory against Andhra in a Group A Round 4 match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali 2019 trophy on Monday.

Put into bat, Andhra were restricted to 146/7 with Srikar Bharat leading the innings with 41 off 36 which included three boundaries and a six. For J&K, Ram Dayal pocketed two wickets apiece and went for 23 runs in his four overs, while Mujtaba Yousuf and Rasool added one each.

In reply, Pundir led from the front with a fluent 51 coming in just 36 balls as J&K chased down the target with nine balls remaining. Pundir’s knock was laced with six boundaries and a six. With the recent win, J&K are placed at No. 4 after registering their second win in four games, while Andhra occupy the fifth slot with four points from three games.
