Railways have topped Group C after a crushing nine-wicket win against Sikkim in their last match Group C Round 6 match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali 2019 tournament at Indore on Thursday.

Railways won five matches in a row and pocketed 20 points, while Sikkim have slipped to the bottom place after going down in all their five attempts.

Put into bat, Sikkim were restricted to just 109/5 despite a half-century from in-form batsman Milind Kumar. No other batsman failed to get going as Railways struck at regular intervals. Meanwhile, Milind’s 49-ball knock was laced with seven boundaries and a solitary six. For Sikkim, Manjeet Singh snapped two wickets and went for just 17 runs in his four overs. In reply, Railways chased down the target in just 13.1 overs for the loss of one wicket. After the departure of Mrunal Devdhar (4) to Ishwar Pandey in the fourth over, Pratham Singh and Prashant Gupta then forged a 97-run partnership to take their side to victory. Pratham’s unbeaten 53 was studded with five boundaries and one six, while Prashant tonked seven boundaries in his 27-ball 40*.
