Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza could not control his tears while speaking to the media on Sunday ahead of Bangladesh’s match against Australia at the T20 World Cup 2016. The ICC had banned fast bowler Taskin Ahmed and slow left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny for illegal bowling action after a test was conducted in Chennai. The Bangladesh and their team management were confident of ICC clearing them in the assessment, but they were suspended, which is a big loss for the team. The Bangladesh management will now follow the ICC procedures and will lodge a formal complaint with the ICC. Bangladesh have some reinforcements, but will not be happy with the suspensions of two of their star bowlers. “There is a process and we will follow that. Whatever we want to say, we will say it to the BCB. The board will decide what to do, and talk to the ICC or whoever [else],” Mashrafe said on Sunday. “But we still believe that Taskin – at least – is all right, and that Taskin can bowl. Now we will go through the processes and the systems that we have,” according to indiatoday.in. But Mortaza’s voice trembled when he was talking about a young talent Taskin. “I don’t think about my career. But what kind of captain would I be if I can’t stand beside the boy who will serve my country for the next 10-15 years. I can’t accept this injustice,” Mashrafe said.
Bangladesh lost their opening match of the T20 World Cup 2016 and another loss will make it extremely difficult for them to progress to the semi-final stage.
