Nathan Lyon spun Australia almost towards to the victory line on Day Four of the fifth Ashes Test at SCG in Sydney. Australia took 303-run lead and later left England tottering at 93 for 4. To add to England’s woes was Joe Root’s finger injury. Root remained unbeaten on 42 while Jonny Bairstow is playing on 17. Australia declared their epic first innings at 649 for 7, courtesy Shaun Marsh and Mitchell Marsh’s centuries. Usman Khawaja, too, played a crucial role with his 171 knock. In return, England were left reeling with Mitchell Starc providing the first breakthrough of Mark Stoneman. Lyon then removed Alastair Cook and Dawid Malan. Pat Cummins scalped the wicket of James Vince.
