After Mumbai Indians secured their sixth consecutive victory in the ongoing IPL, former CSK batter Ambati Rayudu remarked that MI are “five-time champions” because of their smart planning and the player’s ability to stick to their roles perfectly.

MI restricted Rajasthan Royals to just 117 runs in 16.1 overs and secured a commanding 100-run win, which helped them climb to the top of the table with 14 points from 11 games.

MI secured this victory at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium with an all round performance as Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma scored 61 and 53 runs respectively. Suryakumar Yadav and skipper Hardik Pandya also contributed 48 runs each and remained unbeaten, helping MI reach a massive total of 217.

In the bowling department, Karan Sharma and Trent Boult took three wickets each, while Jasprit Bumrah picked up two. Their combined efforts led to Rajasthan Royals batting collapse, with the team getting bowled out for 117 in just 16.1 overs.

With this winning momentum MI is looking for their playoff qualifiaction following their last season faliure as they where at the bottom of the table.

“Success of Mumbai Indians comes from smart planning look at the number of short balls they bowled today, which is rare at Wankhede. But they understood the conditions and executed well. When it comes to the business end of the IPL, Mumbai Indians get into a trance they stick to roles, play to their strengths, and handle pressure better than most. Once they make it to the playoffs, they’re a dangerous team. You can pick 9–10 individual match-winners in their playing XI,” Rayudu said on JioHotstar.

Rayudu also praised Suryakumar Yadav for his unbeaten knock, which included some versatile shots as he dominated over the bowlers.

“The kind of pressure Suryakumar Yadav puts on bowlers is enormous. Bowlers have dealt with big hitters and clever batters, but he’s both. He can go straight down the ground or behind the wicketkeeper he’s got the versatility. He never lets bowlers dominate, regardless of conditions. That’s what makes him special” Rayudu said
