VB Thiruvallur Veerans have bounced back in style from their last defeat and crushed Ruby Trichy Warriors by 57 runs, in match 10 of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2017. With this win, Veernas climb to the second spot with 4 points from 3 games. On the other hand, Warriors stay at the seventh spot. Earlier, Veerans skipper Baba Aparajith elected to bat first. They were off to a flying start courtesy a 125-run opening stand between S Chaturved and S Siddharth. In reply, Warriors succumbed to the pressure of a big chase. Despite a decent start, their batsmen failed to cope up with the pressure and wickets tumbled at regular intervals. Hence, they fell 57 runs short of the target. Openers Bharath Shankar and Baba Indrajith were the only performers with 33 and 34 runs under their belt respectively. Veerans’ Silambarasan returned with figures of 3 for 25.
Chaturved was adjudged Man of the Match for his 89.
