David Warner got hit-wicket during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab at Mohali on Sunday. He became the third player from Sunrisers and over-all to get hit-wicket in this ninth edition of IPL after his teammates Deepak Hooda and Yuvraj Singh. The Hyderabad skipper went deep inside the crease and while an attempt to whip it, his feet disturbed the stumps that forced an angry Warner to walk back to the dugout for 52 off 41 balls. It was Warner’s sixth half-century of IPL 2016 and this innings was inclusive of five boundaries and a six. Live Cricket Scorecard: Kings XI Punjab vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, IPL 2016 Match 47 at Mohali
Hyderabad’s other opener Shikhar Dhawan was the first batsman to get out during Hyderabad’s chase of Punjab’s 180 on Sunday. He was just unlucky as an excellent throw from Mohit Sharma at the non-striker’s end got Dhawan run-out. Warner faced the delivery on the last ball of the eighth over as he had played it towards the long-on. While Warner ran for a single, he returned immediately seeing the ball with Mohit.

After 12 overs, Sunrisers were 118 for 2 with Hooda and Yuvraj at the crease. Earlier, Hashim Amla’s 96 off 56 powered Punjab to 179 in 20 overs. Towards the end, it was David Miller whose fireworks of nine-ball 20 ensured Punjab put up a competitive total. His innings included two fours and a six with Glenn Maxwell, who on the non-striker’s end did not face a single ball. Sunrisers’ go to bowler this season, Mustafizur Rahman happened to be expensive in today’s fixture giving 32 runs in 4 overs despite bagging the crucial wicket of Murali Vijay.
