Former English cricketer Ashley Giles, who was widely-known for his left-arm spin, has named his All Time XI and has done a fair job in his selection with a few surprises. In a video posted by Lord’s Cricket Ground on their official YouTube channel, Giles chose his best players to feature in his All Time XI and the measure of selection is based on players should have played with or against them or have influenced by them. Interestingly, former Indian cricketers Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar will be opening the batting for his side as the duo has stitched numerous match-winning partnerships for India. At three, walks in West Indian legend Brian Lara followed by one of the finest cricketers of all time, Viv Richards. The number five position is grabbed by former South African legend Jacques Kallis with the next one to come is another legendary all-rounder Ian Botham. Adam Gilchrist will be keeping wickets. The bowling department wears a dominant look with their pace battery hailing the likes of Allan Donald and Wasim Akram. The spin department will be shouldered by spin masters Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan. Giles’ has also named a 12th man in the form of Gary Pratt who is widely reckoned for running out Ricky Ponting in the 2005 Ashes.
