Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, who retired from all forms of international and First-Class cricket earlier this year, celebrated his 35th birthday today. The man who served Australian cricket well over a decade and contributed in his side becoming world champ had almost a perfect career, almost. He had a tendency to get out LBW far too often in his career. And though he could never fix that problem, he only made it worse when the Decision Review System (DRS) came into picture. His success rate in using the DRS against LBWs in the Ashes was one in nine. Such was his issue with the DRS that he was often being referred to as Leg Before Watson (LBW). Dismissed 29 times in his career in this fashion, Watson had most dismissals in this manner by an Australian batsman in the last decade. In addition, he had been dismissed LBW in both innings of the same match five times.
