Ashwin and Virat Kohli have been praised following India’s memorable series win. Gavaskar was one of many people who had good words for the duo. “Ashwin has matured tremendously as a bowler. Although he is yet to prove his worth overseas, the variety he brings in undoubtedly makes him the best spinner in the game right now,” he added. Meanwhile, he kept it simple and straight for the Indian Test skipper. He said, “Well done Virat. India is proud of you.”
According to Times of India, the former cricketer has been delighted by India’s recent performances against South Africa. He said, “India’s energy levels were terrific. On a cool day where the sun was not out and the batsmen hardly playing any shots a sense of lethargy can creep in but the Indians never lost sight of their objective and so kept hammering away and have now ended up with a 3-0 scoreline against not just the number one ranked team in the world but a team that hadn’t lost an overseas campaign for over 9 years.” READ: Virat, well done, India is proud of you: Sunil Gavaskar
