India star batter Virat Kohli was only able to stay on the crease for 9 deliveries before getting cleaned up by New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The 35-year-old was dismissed after scoring a single run during the first session of the second day.
However, it was Kohli’s shot that brought even more criticism. He completely misjudged a full toss and tried to play his signature glance. This decision ended up costing him as his bat missed the ball by some margin before it rattled the wickets.
After the dismissal, the Indian batter started to get brutally trolled on social media for his abysmal form in red-ball cricket which doesn’t seem like improving anytime soon. Ex-India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar even went on to label Kohli’s shot as the ‘worst shot of his career’.
Oh dear! Virat will know himself that he has just played the worst shot of his career to get out. Got to feel for him…coz as always he came out with solid & honest intent.

Give me freedom
Give me fire
Give me flat track
Or I will retire

What kind of a shot was that? Clearly Virat Kohli eye sight has gone down. It has affected his reflexes. You can see it his fielding too. Too many misfieldings #INDvsNZ #INDvNZ pic.twitter.com/2Aomj9aj7I
