Indian star batter Virat Kohli is once again on the cusp of achieving another international milestone. The 35-year-old is just 55 runs away from completing 16,000 international runs in Asia.

Kohli will have a great chance of doing so in the upcoming Test against New Zealand which is set to take place in Pune from October 24. Though Kohli got dismissed for a duck in the first innings of the first Test in Bengaluru, he once again showed his class with his knock of 70 in the second innings which proved to be quite important for the Men in Blue.

If Kohli is able to score 55 runs more in the second Test, then he will become only the fourth player to ever cross the 16,000-run mark in Asia behind legends Sachin Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene.

The Indian team will definitely be counting on Kohli to perform in the second Test which will be crucial because if the hosts don’t end up triumphing, then they won’t be able to win the series even if they end up winning the third and final Test which will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
