New Delhi: Ace cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra have been roped in to become the goodwill ambassadors for Skill India. The duo have joined legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar to promote Prime Minster Narendra Modi’s dream project – Skill India Mission. “The idea of having Virat and Sidharth on board was to reach out to the youths who consider them as their icons,” Manish Kumar, Managing Director and CEO of Skill India, said in statement. With the two celebrities’ endorsement, Skill India Mission gets a new boost as it targets the youths of the nation with its mission of “Kushal Bharat Kaushal Bharat”.
“With the talent and skills of Virat Kohli and Sidharth Malhotra, the youth of the nation will be motivated to perform in their everyday lives like the great icons who have earned their place under the sun with their sheer talent and respective skills… that will be a service to the nation,” said Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Union Minister of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge). Virat Kohli on Sunday recorded the highest individual score by an Indian captain, as he scored 235 on Day Four of the fourth Test in the five-Test series against visitors England, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Kohli broke MS his predecessor Dhoni’s record of 224 as highest score by an Indian captain, which came against Australia at Chennai in 2012-13. Kohli has had an impressive run both as a batsman and skipper in 2016, which he continued with the third double ton of his career.
