India registered a dominating victory over South Africa after they bowled out the host for 118 in the first innings. Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli got the job done for India in 20.3 overs.
However ,the match was marked by an interesting incident after the 19th over when the umpires called off lunch break with India needing only two runs to win. The break was already postponed by 4 overs (15 mins). The incident was slammed on all social media platforms.
Virender Sehwag too didn’t hold back as he posted a sarcastic tweet comparing on-field umpires with PSU bankers.
Umpires treating Indian batsmen like PSU Bank treat customers. Lunch ke baad aana #INDvSA

The tweet became very popular on social media but offended PSU bankers. Few twitter users tweeted to Sehwag claiming he is stereotyping bankers as they prioritise customers and not lunch break. Sehwag was quick to reply the tweets in an unconvincing way.
Sir….bura maan Gaya main….I alwez..alwezzzz. saw ur matches @ Mohali….nd I’m a PSU bank officer…nd have alwez treated customers to their expectations…

Bura na maan bhai. Tu exception hai. Most Sarkaari banks , infact most sarkaari departments don’t care for the common man. The attitude is like Maai Baap , as if they are doing a favour if they do their job. https://t.co/CRfkuSQCEb

I work in PSU bank. We never ask our customers to come after lunchtime.

You are also an exception. Apart from lunch most others also have the excuse of server kharaab, printer nahi chal raha. Unfortunately hasn’t changed in most sarkaari departments https://t.co/faeYzdyRBy

This is not the first time Sehwag’s tweet was into controversy. His last tweet that faced criticism was when Sri Lankan players wore a mask as a precautionary measure.
