Virender Sehwag smashed 119-ball 100 for Haryana against Karnataka in Round 4 of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2015-16 in Bengaluru on Thursday. It was a great toss to win by the visitors as they have posted 192 in 49.2 overs. Karnataka’s Sharath H S struck early for them when he removed Haryana opener Rahul Deewan on the fourth delivery of the eighth over for a poor 28-ball nine runs, leaving the visitors at 18 for 1. That dismissal was followed by Haryana adding another 35 runs before the opener C K Bishnoi got out in the 20th over. The 24-year-old medium pacer David Mathias made the breakthrough this time, leaving Haryana for 53 for 2. Live cricket score, Karnataka vs Haryana, Ranji Trophy 2015-16, Group A match, Day 1 at Mysore

Sehwag has been receiving the required support teammate Jayant Yadav from the other end. While the former has been playing his natural game, going for the big shots whenever the bowers bowled loose ball, the 25-year-old Yadav is playing second fiddle who also has reached a superb 50 from 81 balls. While the former Indian cricketer already has 11 boundaries and three sixes to his name in the match, Yadav has seven boundaries so far.

Sehwag announced retirement from international cricket on Tuesday on social media. The occasion was even more special as it was his 37th birthday. He said, “I hereby retire from all forms of international cricket and from the Indian Premier League. A statement will follow.” He then proceeded to post a two-page statement as well. It was previously reported that Sehwag had announced his retirement one day prior, at an event in Dubai. However, that was later proven to be a red herring, as Sehwag had “only hinted” at retirement. He then said that he would return to India and then announce his retirement.
