Shane Warne, arguably the greatest spinner of all-time and a controversy king, turns 47 today. Cricketers and celebrities from around the globe have wished him on social media, so how could our Twitter legend Virender Sehwag miss out? Sehwag in his second innings has been on a birthday wishing spree on Twitter, and has bamboozled all with his witty wishes. This time was no exception. And how could he miss out on wishing the spin-king?

Sehwag, who recently played against Warne during the Cricket All-Stars in the United States, tweeted, “Hpy Bday @ShaneWarne .Wish he Warned d batsmen in advance whether it will b leg-spin,flipper,googly or sumthing else”

Warne’s intelligence claimed the best of the batters, often leaving them bamboozled with the turn or playing with their curiosity on which way will the ball turn. Warne could give the ball a big spin; he had an excellent googly and deceptive flipper.

Sehwag has enjoyed numerous contests with Warne in international cricket and Indian Premier League (IPL) and in a way, his tweet is a fitting tribute to the legendary Australian.

Warne retired from international cricket after the 2006-07 Ashes Down Under where Australia whitewashed England 5-0. He finished with 708 wickets in Test cricket and played a crucial role in his side’s World Cup triumph in 1999, where he was adjudged the Player of the Match in the semi-final and final. Also, with 195 wickets in his kitty, Warne is the most successful bowler in Ashes history. The 47-year old is a noted commentator and so is Sehwag.

Sehwag retired from international cricket in October 2015 and now has gone on to be one of the most active celebrities on Twitter. We hope there are more Cricket All-Stars, where we get to see these two champion cricketers perform. Their playing days may be over but Sehwag and Warne, the two game changers have an insane fan-following and have a lot to contribute to this beautiful game.
