Pakistan ODI captain Mohammed Rizwan gave out the hint that Babar Azam is going to be the one who will open the batting along with Fakhar Zaman in the series opener of the tri-series ODI against New Zealand, set to begin February 8.

Pakistan team will miss out with Saim Ayub for this tri-series and the upcoming Champions Trophy, as the star batter is currently recovering from the leg injury he faced during South Africa tour. Pakistan is the last one among 8 teams to announce their squad.

While they announced their squad for the event, it was revealed that either Babar or Saud Shakeel will open the batting for Pakistan along with Fakhar Zaman during the tournament, set to begin February 19.

A journalist had asked Mohammed Rizwan in a press conference about their opening combination. The Pakistan captain opted to use the tagline used for Babar, in order to hint that the star batter might be the one to open along with Fakhar. The clip of Rizwan giving the answer is going viral:

Iske jawaab mein woh baat ki thi na, ‘King kar lega’.(The answer is, there was a line ‘King will do it’.)”

We have the best choice of players so it is an important series and the best preparation for the bigger event, the Champions Trophy,” Rizwan told reporters.
