Star Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has been in the news of late due to the launch of his clothing line YWC fashion. The launch happened in a gala ceremony with who’s who of Bollywood and cricketing world attending it. The swashbuckling batsman is indeed running busy these days. Talking about being busy, there is another cricketer and Yuvraj’s long-time teammate MS Dhoni, who too is keeping busy these days. The release date of his biopic ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ is approaching (September 30) and even though he is not promoting it extensively as yet, he might do so as the date gets closer. But the Indian captain, who is also a close friend of Yuvraj, missed the launch of latter’s clothing line. And when the reporters asked Yuvraj to comment on Dhoni, the southpaw had an interesting statement to make.
Addressing the press on the sidelines of the launch, Yuvraj said, “I think he’s [Dhoni] very busy and as usual he doesn’t answer my phone calls… mera toh kya woh aapka (reporter’s) bhi phone nehi uthayega (He won’t even pick up your phone calls) He must have been busy with the T20s in America.” The cricketer also jokingly said that he is looking forward to see how his character is portrayed in Dhoni’s biopic. On being asked whether a biopic on his life is a possibility, Yuvraj hinted that it may soon be a reality. “I haven’t thought about it, I want to represent my country again, that’s my motivation… But when cricket ends I can surely think about it.” He further added that given an opportunity, he himself would like to play the lead. “Abhi decide nehi kia hain..Waise toh actor main bhi badaa accha hoon.” (I haven’t decided yet but I am a decent enough actor myself).
Yuvraj launched his brand YWC fashion in association with designers Shantanu and Nikhil. The profit from the clothing line will go on to his cancer foundation YouWeCan (YWC), which the cricketer has been running to help cancer victims. Yuvraj, who himself fought the deadly disease and made an emphatic return to the cricket field, aims to help the patients with their treatment and education through his initiatives.
