Pakistan’s World Cup winning captain Younis Khan has named Fakhar Zaman or Mohammad Rizwan to replace Babar Azam as the captain of the Pakistan team.
Younis believes that Babar Azam will get huge benefits if the captaincy duties get taken off from him. Legendary Pakistan batter was even honored with a special Australian Red Back cap from Mark Cosgrove in Adelaide Oval after he arrived in Australia.
“Stepping away from the captaincy will be beneficial for Babar Azam. In our culture, we often make the biggest player the captain, which I believe is a mistake. Either Mohammad Rizwan or Fakhar Zaman should be considered for the role,” Younis told the reporters at Adelaide Oval.
Younis further added on how he wishes for the young players in the Pakistan team to perform well, and addresses Pakistan cricket has issues in their selection process.
