Delhi were off to a flying start earlier in the match courtesy some fluent hitting by Mayank Agarwal, who smashed 37 runs off 21 deliveries, including six fours and a six. Agarwal was single-handedly scoring majority of runs, before getting caught and bowled by Pravin Tambe for the first wicket to fall with 45 runs on board. Shreyas Iyer continued to attack the opposition, scoring 40 runs off 30 balls, helping DD reach a score of 84 for one after 10 overs. While the Rajasthan Royals team was unchanged for the match, with regular skipper Shane Watson missing out on the match once again, Delhi Daredevils went for three changes, replacing Morne Morkel, Gautam Gambhir and Dominic Joseph Muthuswamy with Jaydev Unadkat, Manoj Tiwary and Angelo Mathews.
