Nothing seems to be going the Yuvraj Singh way this year. The last time one saw Yuvraj in the blue jersey was against West Indies. Since, the selectors have shown a blind eye to the limited-overs specialist. He was trying to keep his fitness in place by rigorous training at the NCA, that did not go well with BCCI officials.

To add fuel to the fire, Yuvraj failed to pass the Yo-Yo Test twice. He also faced personal turmoil during the time frame. He was slapped with a domestic violence case by his sister-in-law Akanksha. However, Yuvraj found a ray of hope when he passed the Yo-Yo Test on Monday right before the selectors could pick the squad for Sri Lanka s T20I series and South Africa Test series.

Yuvraj did not find much luck in the ongoing Ranji Trophy as well. He played just a match for Punjab and scored 62 at 31.

While announcing the squads for the South Africa Tests and Sri Lanka s T20Is, MSK Prasad mentioned the reason behind omitting the stalwart, Yuvraj Singh has fitness issues. He has not played a lot of competitive cricket lately.

Until Monday afternoon, Yuvraj was hopeful of making a comeback to the side and playing until 2019. But with the constant omission from the squad, Yuvraj s comeback seems to be under jeopardy
