The T20 Mumbai league flagged off on Sunday in Wankhede with Ajinkya Rahane-led North Mumbai Panthers trumping Arcs Andheri in the opening tie. The tournament’s final game will be played until March 21. Probability Sports and MCA have roped in players like Sachin Tendulkar as brand ambassador, Sunil Gavaskar as League Commissioner and Dilip Vengsarkar as Chief Mentor.
The other teams participating in the competition are: Sobo Supersonics, Mumbai North East Triumph Kings, Namo Bandra Blasters and Shivaji Park Lions. Zaheer Khan is mentoring Sobo Supersonics while Abhishek Nayyar is the captain of the side.
During the launch event of the Sobo Supersonic team on Saturday, Zaheer was all praise for Nayyar and coach Amit Dani: “The initiative is very good as per the youngster are concerned. We have a very able leader in Abhishek Nayar and Amit Dani as a coach he is very hard working. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sobo Supersonics for this wonderful opportunity to make me a part of this and whatever role I could play to motivate and inspire the team to achieve this tournament we will do it and i would like to wish everyone of t20 Mumbai Team all the best.”
