BCCI’s central contract list for 2025 revealed

The BCCI has released the new central contract list for the 2024-2025 season. The list comprises of a total of 34 players, who have been categorized into 4 different grades.

Many players got dropped from the 2025 central contract list

While some players got contracts for the first time, there were some who were excluded from the list altogether. These exclusions are based on form, fitness, and future selection prospects.

Shardul Tahkur’s name was excluded from the list

The Lucknow Super Giants pacer was excluded from the BCCI’s central contract list. Shardul last played for India in 2023 before losing his place in the team due to injuries. Due to his prolonged absence and regular injuries, the BCCI decided not to hand him a central contract in 2025.

Avesh was also not given a central contract from BCCI

The Lucknow Super Giants pacer has so far performed well in IPL 2025, picking up 8 wickets in 7 matches. Avesh last represented India in 2024 against South Africa. His name surprisingly wasn’t present in BCCI’s central contract list for 2025.

The Lucknow Super Giants will be taking on the Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on April 22. This will be quite an important match as both the sides currently have 10 points each on the board, however the Delhi-based franchise have a game in hand.
