Gautam Gambhir to Shane Watson: Top performers in season 1 of IPL

1. Shaun Marsh (Kings XI Punjab) – 616 runs
The former Australia batter featured for the Kings XI Punjab in a total of 11 matches in the inaugural season. Marsh played several fantastic knocks in the season and also won the orange cap.
Gautam Gambhir
2. Gautam Gambhir (Delhi Daredevils) – 534 runs
The former India batter was sensational for the Delhi Daredevils in the inaugural season of the IPL. Gambhir scored runs at a brilliant average of 41.07 for the Delhi-based franchise.

3. Sanath Jayasuriya (Mumbai Indians) – 514 runs

The former Australia all-rounder wasn’t just brilliant with the bat, but was also exceptional with the ball in his hand. Watson was one of the Rajasthan Royals’ best bowlers in the inaugural IPL season.

10. Piyush Chawla (Kings XI Punjab) – 17 wickets
The former India spinner had a brilliant campaign with the Kings XI Punjab in the inaugural season of IPL. Chawla bamboozled many batters with his sensational spin bowling throughout the season, racking up a lot of scalps.
